EXPLOTACIÓN (“exploitation” in english) is an EP collecting four electroacoustic works, composed betwen late 2005 and 2006. Though it prevails an acousmatic spirit, the paradox appears as sound sources have a great importance in the conception of music and even in its macro-structure. These samples, generally homogeneus (monothematic), were recorded by poor means such as a computer microphone or a handycam, lacking any interfaces or sophistication. During the processing it were used different softwares and diverse techniques with the intention of, precisely, exploiting these sounds and getting the maximum benefit from them, just as if they were electroacoustic studies. Ultramar uses a phone message that I got on my cell. The phrases were deconstructed to give them a musicality far from spoken language's sense. Epitunga is a soundscape composed on the ambience and music of a religious festivity in the Chilean Andean highlands, with a lot of sound processing considering it is a soundscape. Crepúsculo is also kind of a soundscape, where sounds of traffic in the Copacabana Avenue, in Rio de Janeiro, were filtered to enhance some frequencies that we hear daily, though we rarely notice. Autopsia de un Globo Amarillo borns out from the play of rubbing a burst balloon against my teeth. Every sound here, in its original version, was horrible, because of the poor sampling resources. They showed an internal potential though which I think I knew how to bring out, even in the harder cases, through exploitation.
